Just run a quote through Motorcycle Direct, 20 quid more than my renewal, ranging up to well over a grand...Pffft...That came up with about six insurers, tbf I'd only heard of the one...

I'm nipping into Falcon at the weekend as the office is only twenty minutes away and a few of the lads are with them, I'm just trying to get some rough quotes now I have the 3 naughty points on my license...

Thebikeinsurer has always worked for me mate, they managed to find somebody to insure me with only having my licence 2 years, a theft claim under my belt, and 0 ncb on an 07 gsxr 1000.

Don't buy online though, call them up, and they'll nearly always knock another few hundred quid off.

Just tried to run a quote through Thebikeinsurer and it can't comprehend that I've got five years NCB and only held a license for a year !...

Exactly, but look what I'm riding, and only had my licence 2 years Laughing They were the one and only company that would insure me with 0ncb.

Carol Nash want over a hundred quid more than my renewal of 550, I have yet to amend my details on my renewal to add the thee naughty points so I know that'll go up some...

Reason I'm trying to shop around is Ebike don't cover the policy holder to ride other bikes, and I want to, I ride with six others so it makes sense to me to be able to ride their bikes aswell as my own, incase something happens or ease of use, they say in their details that they may sort something out regards it in the future as an ' Add on policy ' which tbf is cack...I know their quotes may be cheaper for some because of that omission but it's something I want god dammit...

Err.. a ground anchor is just as relevant to TPFT as it is Comprehensive.

Err...I'm just going on what they told me...

To renew the policy with Ebike it's only a tenner more with the SP30...Still means I can't ride other bikes though...

And to TPO also, as if someone nicks the bike and then rams it through a bus stop full of commuters it's still his insurance that'll pick up the tab even though it's not him riding. Best not to let it get nicked and ridden illegaly regardless of the level of cover.

It would be irrelevant as you rightly suggest whether TPFT or TPFT+AD in this instance, as if it's nicked they're going to pay for it as a total loss anyway when it doesn't turn up again.

Strange decision

Falcon - the only insurer to ask me pretty much down to the level of what i had for breakfast.

I wanted TPO, multi-bike. Yet they wanted to know where i parked the bike at night, what sort of parking i parked it in at university, the exact make and model of my bike alarm, whether my NCB had been gained separately or concurrently (or words to that effect - i didn't really get what they meant), and so much more things than normal?

I've considered the possibly they use it to decide if you're a "responsible rider" - maybe statistically, the overly too-cautious guy that uses an Almax 3, a motion sensing alarm, a datatag AND a garage to protect his crappy old CB500 (opps, that be me Embarassed), is statistically less likely to smash into another road user than the douche that leaves his CB500 outside on the road with not a bean to protect it. At least, i like to think so Wink

As mentioned on my site, that -> https://www.motorcycle.co.uk/Insurance.aspx is a pretty comprehensive list of UK insurers. Not sure who it was that posted it up on here though.
