If you are going to get anything from Dabs let me know and I'll see what I can get it for from them, we get a varying discount from dabs through work.

Basically the discount of late has been small but does come with free delivery.

Is it worth paying an extra 15 quid to have a flat screen 17" as apposed to the ordinary type?

Comments anyone?

Hmmm

Well again I probably would. You get a clearer picture as you dont get reflections from as much around you on it.

Sounds fair.

The only thing that concerns me is the flat screen one, although more expensive has got a resolution of only 1024 x 768, where as the standard monitor which is cheaper has 1280 x 1024.

What difference that makes, i dont know.

Its times like this i wish i knew more about computers Mad

thats just the maximum resolution, you only have it set on one at a given time, i just use 1024x768 and is fine.

nice ones here https://www.xaprief.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2162

just rebadged monitors, pretty cheap and most use the sony tubes Smile

oh and there are some cheap 17" samsung's at aria, flat screen crt, anti reflective coating etc anbout £70

Almost as Mr James says, that figure's generally the optimum resolution, should also have a refresh rate figure there too.
I would pay £15 for an FST screen as you get more visible screen area and less reflection.
I work for the UK's largest IT supplier and can probably get you a decent discount if you tell me what you're after Very Happy
