Summed up in one word.... USELESS!!

Started my day all excited to finally have warm hand while riding to work, so wired myself up and got everything in the right place then sat on my bike and plugged myself into the battery. Sitting there connected to a battery made me feel really uneasy, doesn't feel right to be connected to your bike like this....

...So all connected and my gloves seem too big and don't feel too comfortable while their on, I start the engine regardless and set off...

...10 mins into the ride, I don't know whether my body heat is heating the gloves or whether my battery is doing it. I think I may be tricking myself into thinking these gloves are working...

...20 mins into the ride, These gloves are definitely not working, Im about to join the 3 lane carriageway of the A3 and feeling pretty pissed off about these gloves after spending so much on therm...

... 30 mins into the ride, there's an BMW M3 flown up my arse on the outside lane of the carriageway and a lorry to my left that's decided to speed up as im trying to overtake at 50mph (I ride a YBR), oh and what's that noise the bike is twitching....

....31 mins into the ride, still stuck in the outside lane the bike totally cuts out, all power gone, so I start to slow with mr BMW driver beeping me and I try to get over to the left. BMW driver pulls in left to try and take me on the inside while im moving across, very dangerous...

...33 mins, stuck on the side of the carriageway doing my 'look around the engine walk' to see if I can find out what the issue is and I conclude that my bike has stopped. Try the starter and nothing. I then disconnect my gloves and try the starter again and bingo!! First time.

These gloves are absolutely terrible. I'm going for a set of heated grips instead. What a waste of £129.99

Wow, I'm sorry to hear you spent so much on gloves that don't work for you. Maybe the problem is that your bike doesn't have the right electrics / battery for the gloves though? Some 125's just aren't going to be cut out to do it.

It's a 125 have you seen the size of the battery? It's not designed to take extra load.

Really? Ah right well that's the problem then. Maybe heated grips are out of the question too then Laughing

Guess frozen fingers are going to be with me for a little more time yet!

I was going to get a pair of those over Christmas but my size was out.

They look pretty good and should do the trick nicely, i think your bike just couldn't handle it as they do need a fair amount of power.

Fortunately the ZX9 kicks out enough from the altenator

A YBR should be able to cope with it. It's not that much of a load.

I run an extra brake light (in the top box), my TomTom Rider and a set of Oxford Hot Hands grips all off my YBR's electrical system and it's fine (I've been doing this for the best part of a year now). I think the battery is going on 4 years old now too - I just keep it topped up with distilled water and it seems to be okay (it's not the newer, sealed battery).

With my bar muffs, the grips are fantastic in this weather. Forget heated gloves or grips on their own - wind chill just makes them useless (tried it for a while, as I was too lazy to keep taking the muffs on/off). There is only the slightest, barely noticeable dip of headlamp brightness when I put the grips on, and I mean it's very very very minuscule. I often ride for more than an hour at a time with the grips and sat-nav drawing power from the bike - no problems.

My only gripes with these is that there's no thermostat, and they get pretty hot, plus there is a lot of surplus wiring, which I just wrapped nicely around the handlebar clamps. They also make the your grips fatter which might be a good thing, depending on your hands (I like it). I'm sure normal grips would work as well. Thumbs Up

I used the same gloves during the winter months with a set of muffs for really cold/wet days. Fantastic bits of kit.

That really sucks, its well annoying when even the pricey kit fails to work...

When dafydd first mentioned he was getting these gloves, I was looking at (much much) cheaper battery powered ones, but decided against them. The decider was getting a balaclava (weirdly enough) which seemed to keep my core body temp up enough that my fingers didn't feel like they were getting frostbit..

Btw dafydd, if you decided you're going to ebay them, I wouldn't recommend writing them up as you've done here lol

I think if I start feeling the frost again, I'll suck it up and buy some tucano muffs...

My Friend had an SR125 with heated grips if she put them on anything highier than the lowest setting the lights would dim and the engine misfire.

After a complaint to the company they have agreed to a full refund so all in all a good result. I'm glad they didn't work in a way as having all these wires thread through my body then connecting to the bike was just a pain in the arse. It wouldn't have taken me long to get aggravated by the snagging of wires.

It's just going to get warmer from now on though so I'm not entirely fussed. Just going to get my Mod2 test done out the way and buy some heated grips for my SV

If you are that bothered get some muffs/ handgards, they work far better than heated grips. They also work really well together.

IMO Hand guards are better imo, if you get muffs becareful when you fit them as they can interfer with controls.
