I drove an M plate one a few times, this model:

I think around P reg they had a revision and I don't know if that was just cosmetic or not so my experience of it may not be totally relevant, but incase it is:

mpg.. not bad but not brilliant, the one I drove was a farm truck, 2.8TD engine got around 27mpg, in comparison to 23mpg from the other farm truck (Landrover 90, 2.5NAD engine)

on road it was slightly faster and slightly stiffer than the 90, and seemed to have slightly less room inside. Off-road it was easily as capable as the 90 for field work, but struggled a bit due on rougher terrain due to less ground clearance, less suspension articulation and less low rpm pull from the engine.

didn't get to drive it long enough to know about servicing costs personally but from talking to the gamekeeper they're as expensive to maintain as a Landrover 90 and about as hardwearing.

One thing I did notice on the one I used, it was rusting like it was allergic to being in the UK, the whole rear floor area had rusted through, been cut out and replaced with plate steel which was busily rusting through again in all the places that it was welded to the original metal.. it was like automotive leprosy Shocked

Can't remember what reg it was as it is a while ago now but I owned on for about a year as a toy ( so cant really comment on everyday use ) but it was bloody good fun offroad. Not as competent as my Rangie but still very very popular at my local offroad place. Good approach and departure angles and I never managed to get it stuck anywhere although it wasn't for want of trying Very Happy

Whenever I did drive it any distance roadwise it just drank petrol with seemingly no real difference how I drove it. If you go for diesel I'm sure it won't hurt quite as much.

Build quality was fantastic though, in that they're not overly well appointed but what is in there is tough and durable.

Always started first time and the engine never missed a beat in all the time I had it even though it was abused every time I drove it. What finished this car off was coming off a quite steep drop way to quickly and I somehow managed to trash the gearbox on landing on the rocks beneath. I fully believe if it were not for driver error this car would have carried on going forever.

They are very well priced for what they are capable of and I would happily have another Thumbs Up

I was just trying to get some detailed info on them other than what's just been wrote in reviews on the net, thanks Gents Karma cookies given... Thumbs Up
