Hi lads, I have a 51 plate bandit. I've seen an exhaust from a 97 plate 1200. Any idea if it will fit?

I know the models changed but why won't it fit, what did they change sort of thing. Had a good search through the net but can't find anything.

The 97 Bandit was the Mk1 whereas the 01 Bandit was the Mk2.
I'm pretty sure the rear footrest where the exhaust hangs from are slightly different so they wont match up from one model to the next.
Link pipes are possibly a different length as well.
