Derestricting A NRG Power DD 50cc Moped.

Hello, my names Tom, Im 16 years old.

Im new to the forum, so im sorry if i have posted this in the wrong field.

I was just wondering if anyone knows how to derestrict a Piaggio NRG Power DD 50cc moped.

At the moment we've taken the washer from out behind the Variator Case.[color=red]

I'm not completely familiar with the NRG's but my X8R had a CDI unit that restricts engine ignition timing. I snipped a wire in mine and got an extra 7mph heh

If I'm honest with you mate, you'll go to a lot of effort for a very small ammount of extra speed... It pays to just bear 30mph for a few months until you're 17 and get a 125.

It's cheaper, makes your 50 easier to sell when you're ready and there's no chance of you getting caught by the po-po heh

Mopeds are slow. Fact. Getting them to be a tiny bit faster costs a LOT of money for a very very small increase in speed.... Best to wait man

Well when i got it, i was stuck at 29mph everywhere so i told mydad and he took the washer out, and now it goes about 35 - 40mph, but at the moment it feels sluggish i was just wondering if i derestrict it more, it might not feel sluggish?

ok some info for you 90% of mopeds are restricted in the variator
at least 50% have some kind of restriction in the exaust usealy stops the gasses escapeing as quickly meaning its slowed down

the best way to de restict a mope is
A. remove variator waser
B. add a performance exhaust and put in the rollers
c. get a new de-restricted cdi (around £20)
D. new performance air filter and jet kit

do all this (in that order)
and youl have urself a 45 mph moped
then when you get bored start getting stupid and ad these
pollini 70cc big bore kit (only leagal if your 17)
mallosi raceing clutch and variator
primary and secondary gear up kit (pollini or mallosi wiche ever you prefer)

p.s none of any thing i have said is leagal for you to do the law states that at 16 you can do your CBT and ride a 50cc moped not capable of more that 30mph no one ever pays attention to this but still be carefull I.E dont go past a cop car at 40 mph in highh revs
moast coppers arnt picky enough to pull you for it but if your beeing a twat and they pull you for that then theyl do you for the de restiction to
