Hi, my cbr600f 2001 f1 has been making some noises when being ridden. I changed the CCT lifter less than 1500 miles ago, so very unlikely to be that.

The clutch is a bit "whirry" when slipping in 1st and has been since I bought it, after listening to other CBRs riding around I am of the impression that they all do this.

Recently however when not slipping the clutch, (in i.e. 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc) if i put some throttle in a rattly/slightly whirry (more rattly than whirry Wink ) noise happens. This does not happen when revving it in neutral OR in gear with the clutch pulled in OR when coasting and revving i.e. only makes the noise when under load, hence I'm thinking clutch/transmission...it is very hard to isolate where it is coming from.

This the the only bike I've owned so it may be normal but the noise does seem more noticeable. It may just be that I wasnt wearing earplugs last weekend. Neutral

My chain and sprockets have seen better days but as it is silent when coasting I had ruled this out

Any thoughts?

Anyone else got one that makes similar noises?

Pretty much all CBRs whine in first gear. It's a feature.

The clutch basket rumbles on most of them, again it's a feature. However it should go away when you pull the clutch in.

Not sure what the noise you're describing is though.

It sounds a bit like the whirring that I get in 1st but with a slight rattle, goes away when not in gear/not under load so is probably the clutch.

I'm not exactly worried, just curious tbh
