Hi All,

Im looking to get some "brighter" headlights for my car, and was wondering if anybody can recommend a particular brand.

I dont have the HID setup, so something that would fit a standard set up is needed. Its a H7 bulb I believe (for an 05 BMW E46).

Halfords seem to have some on BOGOF £23.99 which are "90% brighter"...but theres nothing better than getting honest opinions!...anybody know of any decent bulbs?

I have the Philips Blue Vision in mine. They are better than standard; not stupidly bright but they are white (not actually blue) and have a better beam spread than standard.

One thing I was told is beware of those that are sold 'not for road use' as they will dull your headlight reflector.

Think the ones in my car are H4 so I'm not sure if you can get H7's.

I had problems with the low beam in my V70 a couple of years ago, when I bought it they were useless so I swapped the bulbs for a pair of H7s from Aldi, they were selling some white bulbs and blue tint, I bought a set of both (about £4 a pair) and the white ones were best. Tesla bulbs, nothing fancy, the ones in the Volvo that were rubbish and I took out were actually expensive phillips x-treme bulbs, £30 roughly looking on google, show's what a waste of money they are.

The Philips bulbs are pretty damn good. I put 6 (main, dip, fog) in my car about 5 years ago, and I've not had a single one go yet.

Anything greater than 60w in a 'standard' fitment is classed as 'not for road use'. As said above, you risk melting the reflectors or the polycarbonate surrounding the bulb due to the extra heat.

All i can say is Osram Nightbreakers Wink

Do them in all fitments and fitted them to all my cars/bikes since i discovered them, my dad and stepmum also use them in their cars.

Don't pay silly prices online, the place i get mine from do them for £12.50 a pair (for H4's, think H7's are the same price) and you get free sidelight bulbs Razz

They have an ebay shop, i'll try and find it.
