Guys,

Has anyone seen this done? obviously the rxs has wire spoke wheels whereas the ld has alloys, but they are both 18" and similar in width, the rear rd wheel has an expanding brake, which i guess is another word for drum brake? So should be all good, the rd front obviously has a disc but should be doable with ld forks/caliper etc? was thinking it would improve the looks and braking!! Cool

Also.. on a totally seperate subject, i read recently (maybe on here) a guy saying that whenever he buys a new bike he goes over all the electrical connections, checks them and then sprays contact cleaner on before reconnecting.. yep all makes sense.. but he goes on to say he then applies grease to the contacts before reconnecting aswell? is this a good idea? i've never thought of doing it on electrical connections, so wondered what you guys think.

I think the grease in question is dielectric grease not normal greasy grease.

Probably silicon based I imagine and waterproofs the connection.

cool thanks guys, i really like the wheels on a late 70's rd125 dx or rd 200, the 8 spoke alloy ones, look much better as chunkier tyres, but i maybe pushing my luck with these. But as said a good set of forks will be the hard part. i presume changing over to a disc shouldn't be too hard? wheel/forks/disc/caliper/lever/reservior and brake line? i'd get an LC if i wasn't a pennyless porper Razz
