Hi, I am planning to buy my first bike, and originally that was a NSR 125, but then again, I now decided to go for YZF R125 - Never going to spend all that money on a new one, planning to buy for 1500-1700 as their prices are going down now.
I am 20 years old, and never had a car or a bike in my life, I would be driving on CBT, so the insurance on the YZF is around 450-500 which is quite a lot.
I was thinking of waiting a year, getting my full license at 21, or even a restricted on right now, and buying an R6(restricted or not, depending on the license).. But the insurance on an R6 that i got, was around 4000 for TPFT, which simply amazed me..
So that is the main reason i'm getting a 125cc bike, and not even a restricted 600 (or smaller).
The question is, will riding a 125cc for a year, decrease my insurance quote of a bigger bike? Or will it just stay around the same stunningly high price?
Maybe anyone could suggest anything smarter for a first bike? Because I do know, people crash their first one atleast once, and the fairings are extremely expensive to replace..
Oh by the way, a great forum as I read through alot of threads, just joined in! |
