For those of you who haven't seen the thread in show and tell, I'd thought I would share the video of me setting the kitchen on fire whilst making a batch of smoke bombs. Rolling Eyes Needless to say, Im seriously in the doghouse.

I was making a mix for smoke bombs (as you do) and me being an idiot tested the batch (lit a small peanut size portion) too close to the main mix. It jumped into the main mix and set it all off. Rolling Eyes

Potassium nitrate goes up really really well. Burnt through the floor, right through the worksurface, Set the cupboards on fire, burnt through all the clothes in front of the washing machine. Melted the washing machine, cd player and various objects laying about. I spent about 2 and a half hours cleaning up the mess and getting the smoke out of the house. I Had to repaint the walls and ceiling, sand down cupboards etc.

Couldn't hide the holes in everything however, so just had to grin and face the music... Neutral

And here is the video...

Here ya go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAipmZCP4qs

I think I deserve some karma for that Mr. Green

Your an idiot!

Me and CHR15 off here used to make pyro stuff in the SHED. I left him alone once and a pan full of that same mix you have caught fire, melted through the pan and onto the gas portable hob we were using. Yeh I know gas was a bad idea but we were in a SHED so it didn't matter, just a sh1t load of smoke and my mum asking if everything was ok. We were 15 at the time.

Another fail I did on my own was milling so BP by hand in a ceramic pestle and mortar. Thought I would test some but there was way too much sulphur in it and huge globules of it formed and spat everywhere, inevitably, one landed in the pestle and whoosh, cue thick ceramic pestle flying shards everywhere and once again mum wondering where her best pestle and mortar went. Laughing

Good times.

Laughing One load was in the washing machine, and the other was waiting to go in. Nevermind, saved me doing another load of washing I suppose. Had to chuck it all (what was left of it) in the bin. Neutral
