Tyre

Last rode it wednesday, tried to back it out the garage only to find it wouldn't move much...rear tyre's flat as a pancake. Can't do anything til monday so just wondering what ppl who have had tyres plugged would recommend.

I got a rear on my FZR plugged but this is a Blade with double the BHP and I go a lot faster on it so is it worth it...the fekin tyres only done about 1.5K miles..it's a nail btw but is clearly a very fast puncture had no pressure at all.

Oh yeah, I won't be comin to BH/Ace tomorrow unless anyone wants to give me a bike/lift (cars not being used either coz it needs work doing on it)

Bummer. Confused

I personally reckon that you should get a new tyre as it's not really worth the risk. What have you got on at the moment? What's Kev's rear tyre like? Smile

Personally i would just get it proffessionally puncture repaired.
I know that both me and Alex (Dusty) have both done trackdays on previously puncture repaired tyres, so they cant be that bad.

Although if we are on the subject of moaning about punctures...

Ever since Bulldog, I have got a slow puncture loosing 10psi a day. But its a bitch, coz i dont know where the leak is, as i'm sure its just a deep stone cut from that very nasty-big-stoned-gravel pathway-entrance-thing). Grrr!

2 words.. Tyre weld. The stuff works wonders. Dru had a flat, some biker offered us a bottle, stuck it on the valve, let it empty into the tyre... Now there is no flat. Simple, you can have it sorted tomorrow morning and still make it to BH/Ace. Very Happy

I was going to suggest some of that stuff, but I've heard that some tyre places don't like changing tyres with it in?

But it should cure your problem V. Smile

Hi

The tyre weld does work, but if you then want to get a proper repair done no tyre place is going to want to touch it.

I would just get a proper repair done. My last rear tyre on the Bandit went through 3/4 of its life with a repaired puncture.

All the best

Keith

My front tyre had a slow puncture from a small stone, put in some of that purple gunk stuff whatever its called Tyre Seal or something who cares but the puncture has gone and ive not had ANY problems with the tyre so far.

Whether you have a puncture or not, stick some of that tyre weld stuff in your tyres to prevent it happening in the future! its great stuff.

Phoenix, did you say you was going to Bury Hill next sunday or not? Could'nt quite make out your post on the other forum cos one minute it were yes then it were no then it were yes then no again Laughing

I used Flatmate on my puncture and it worked fine Very Happy The guy where I just bought my new 207RR's from says they can plug it and guarantee the plug for the life of the tyre.

Well i dropped the wheel off this morning and they said you're not officialy allowed to plug Z rated tyres anymore (legal thing) but they'd do it without a receipt, so I got it done.

You are allowed to plug them, according to most manufacturers. When they brought the ruling out Dunlop, Mitchelin etc argued and said there's could be plugged. Only Avon, I beleive didn't, argue Confused
