So I managed to save up ?1,900 for my new bike Honda CBR 600FY, 20,000 miles on the clock, absolute minter with the 09/10 HRC paint scheme. Bought it off a bloke my Dad knew who had the paint job done for 700 bucks and then couldn't afford to keep the bike.
Considering my current bike is a GS500, I am quite chuffed
Only problem is my insurance wont change bikes on my policy, so I can't insure it until May when my current policy on the GS500 runs out So I'm keeping the GS until May, in which time I can strip the CBR and clean it up, and then sell the GS to go toward the insurance fees.
Still, I rode it up and down the lane a few times, I'm in love with it.
Got good write ups too from what I've read around since having it. Any good CBR forums worth joining? And what would you do to it? As the bike apart from the paint job is completely standard.
Pic's are a shite quality as they are in my garage at night. I will hopefully get some better ones tomorow.

Looks pretty tidy, powder coated the calipers gold too. Nice touch.
I had an FX for a while, they are good fun bikes. Will do pretty much everything. Standard exhaust is whisper quiet. It's pretty capable completely standard.
Chuck a race can on it if you so wish, that's probably about all I'd really bother with. Actually looking at it again if you can find a single seat cowl for it and get that painted white I think it would really compliment it. ____________________ My Flickr |

Cofdude, you have won back my admiration after all this flaming because you actually had an in joke with me that I didn't get until you explained... you are way too obsessed with me/BCF. Anyway, karma for making me feel loved
And white/black rims? Nah, I'll leave them gold for now, I'm 18 remember, gotta B luwkin blinggggggg and all that.
On about the single seat conversion, I heard you can get like a clip on that will go over the back seat that makes it look like a single seat, and you can take it off when you need the back one? ____________________ Journalist, student, egotist.

Na, it's just Honda have a poor sense of 'trim' colour. They will soon realise met gold is a bit 90's dated.
For a modern, fresh, crisp look it'd have to be white - in the same style as LukeVFR's R6 was. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. Get some better happy pills, hit the gym & buy a medallion the size of a dinner plate. Job done |

I'm keeping the gold rims, I like them at the moment. I do agree that LukeVFR's R6 was extremely nice, however yes, the gold wheels are part of the paint scheme.
What do you think about Pazzo's?
I don't really want a can at the moment because it will attract the fuzz onto my unrestricted ass. ____________________ Journalist, student, egotist.

When it suits the bike (usually a fast bike) and paint scheme, gold wheels are not at all dated, and often perfect. In fact, goes for cars too ____________________ Current: Ducati Panigale R / Ducati Streetfighter S / Suzuki GSX-R1000 L5 |

I KNEW that link would lead to a Scooby, haha!
I agree with you Alex, my dad had a k4 gixxer thou limited edition for a while, that was black with gold detailing that included the rims and top yolk, and that bike was gorgeous. He also has a CB1300S at the moment that came with gold rims, also suits the bike. Fuck me, our garage has a lot of gold wheeled bikes. ____________________ Journalist, student, egotist.
