Mornin',

So I was switching my end can from the one required for it's MOT to the one that would result in MOT failure. When I was screwing together the clamp that holds the pipe onto the other half of the exhaust pipe, I realised it had cross threaded and won't tighten at all.

Thing is it's bolted on to the frame firmly so I'm wondering if it will be ok to ride until I can find a replacement clamp - I can't see that any force in the pipe is going to be sufficient to raise the whole thing out of the pipe.

I've included a shitty paint diagram to badly illustrate what I'm talking about.

Cheers,

GhostRider

You need to remember that pipes heat up and expand, if that is loose all the expansion will be flexed at that point rather than evenly over the pipe, it will eventually wear and leak gasses.

Yeah that makes sense, I'm only going to ride it for a day or two until i can replace it though so I should be ok for that duration, right?
