hi Guys!
Im From Sri Lanka and just got my first bike - a Suzuki SX 125 second hand for $350 - converted to local currency its a pretty decent amount! (at least that all i would spend for a bike needing repairs)

well it needs some repairs and wanted to know if any of you guys have any idea on this bike.... doing most of the repairs myself.

any pics, advice, ideas are welcome

Thanks

Most 125s are a doddle to work on.
Just keep on top of the usual oil levels, tyre pressures, chain tension etc.
Looks clean for the price, obviously cant see inside the engine etc, but i'd say its a good buy.

What are the repairs it needs?

Hi
Sorry couldn't reply cuz was out of town.

well the first thing is that, that isn't the pic of my bike that i bought. I just put a random pics since hadn't got the pics of ma Bike on to my PC so .....now iv got it and ill post updates of the work that has been done and the work that will follow.

When i bought the bike i hadn't a clue as to what to look for so after buying the bike this is what i found.

1. the light weren't working - i knew that but didnt6 know to what extent it was damaged.

2. brakes needed to be done and tires replaced.

the engine had an awful noise which i was advised as a loose Tappet valve.

3. paint was bad

The solutions.

I checked the brakes and the front disk brake pads have woren out so proceeded to fix it.

i managed to brake the bleeding nipple so had to bleed it manually.

checked the back brakes and found that the liners were woren out and so was the hub.

got new liners and got it fixed.

the went on to fix the head light.

nw got on to the engine

well i was surprised
Shocked to find that the CAM had been cut so bad it was a perfect circle and was fitted with brass bushes.
The whole head had to be replaced.

checked the piston bore since it was like a smoke machine

bored the engine and got new pistons ...

Then checked the CARB (which was blocked )

cleaned it and replaced the jets since the previous owner had closed the jets to increase fuel economy.
Mad

well in any case now Ive got the bike in running condition and it runs like a brand new machine.

BUT i still have problems with the wiring.

the issue i forgot to mention is that the previous guy had fixed a CAR Ignition coil (Pulse coil or something- don't really know what it is)

Looks like a condenser tho....

so i cant figure out how to get the wiring done because the Harness seems to be pretty messed up as well.

Hope i can get some help on this i searched all over the net to find a wiring diagram for this model but found it couldn't find any.
