Baotian drive belt

Now before you start shouting at me, the scooter belongs to No1 Son who's doing it all for his 16th Birthday...

Its a 2007 BT49-QT9 with a knackered drive belt as its stretched and too loose. Got one off ebay which is far too tight and I cant even stretch it around the engine output shaft so I've gone back to the seller.

How tight a fit should a scooter drive belt be between the rear wheel pully and the engine output shaft ?

You may have to pull or push the pullys apart to get the belt to fit and they are quite a tight fit, emember that the pulleys open and close as the engine revs thus varing the ratios to the back wheel.

Thanks for the reply. I've just been messing around in the garage and worked it out. Last time I fitted one of these belts (Long time ago) the pulley around the rear wheel was fixed. On this scooter its spring loaded so you've got to pull it apart to fix the belt
