so i ordered a new generator cover for my R6. Rather than shell out £80 odd quid for a new one, i bought one of these snazzy chinese ones.

My R6 is 2000 W reg, 5EB, so falls into the ''1999-2002'' bracket.

heres the link.
https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330389078631.

The problem is, the cover doesnt fit in any sense of the word.
The top edge of the cover would foul the frame when fitted, and the REAL problem is the fitting of the generator. The 3 hole PCD for the generator mounts are about 5mm too close together, and the locating post-thing doesnt fit snugly to the generator ID like on the yamaha one.

i messaged the guy telling him how useless he is, and offered to send pictures. he asked. i sent. I also told him that if he wants it back, he can send a courier to collect it from my hands, otherwise im binning it Wink

Just want a bit of clarification that i am in fact in the right, before i escalate this to a dispute and possibly get a bit more keyboard warrior nasty to the guy.

heres the pictures i sent him

Start a dispute, you will win. Takes around 10 days tho.

Ebay is highly weighted against sellers at the moment. I sold something to a guy sent it recorded delivery. He claimed it didnt arrive as it wasnt his signiature on the signed for bit.
He complained to ebay and they took the £130 out of my account straight away.
I know for a fact he got the Item.

well, the guy refused to refund me unless i returned it. i explained that it wouldnt be cost effective for me to send it to china as it was a scrap, useless item, he still stuck to his guns...

so i ran to ebay customer support with my tail between my legs and they issued me a full refund.
all is well...

never buy engine covers from china.
