Disappointingly there are no images or video but still, it sounds pretty horrific.

The leg was severed and went flying through the air. Well I certainly know I won't be buying an R6 any time soon Laughing

How unlucky.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

The Washington State Patrol said the crash was caused by the motorcyclist riding too fast for conditions.

And a lack of skill/observation.
Can you just buy an R6 and ride it without any test or training in the US?

I wonder how it would have been reported here, less graphic detail I think.
The fascination with the trajectory of the flying limb is quite whimsical.

The cyclist faces possible reckless driving charges.

Is that the correct term or is it an American thing.

The police said there was no drugs or alcohol involved, but I'm pretty sure he was legless.

Don't worry I've already got my coat on. Sad

Sounds like he doesn't have a leg to stand on. It seems that in the end the sign post managed to get a leg up on him. Really though, going that kind of speed in an urban area on an R6 was a bit footloose of him.

And further proof that Yamaha isn't as expensive as some claim, it only cost him his leg. Ah well, my good wishes and best of luck towards his recovery. Break a le...

Its America, he could have been tasered or shot in his remaining leg to 'subdue him if the officer felt his donut was under threat.

Plus, he was littering. Body parts can be litter.

Wotcha.

I came "SO" close to having my leg ripped off - being a stubborn old bugger I hung on to it.
Still can't walk or ride the bike yet - but I'm working on it.
