A while back, my friends dad had an absolutely spanking RD350 YPVS 31K. it was a naked one, but he modded it for nudity, and kept the immaculate fairings hidden away just in case... the guy is a fucking RD nut. shed, loft, garage... all full of YPVS parts, engines, exhausts etc. enough to fill a transit.

then came the fateful day... some fucker pulled out on him, bent his bike, and now its not as pretty any more, and he's lost interest in it Sad he got up, but then got back down again pretty quickly and woke up in hospital. fucked spleen, but kept it.

anyway, ive known the guy for a while, and he's been giving me a hand with parts for my mito 350 from day 1, and he's so fucking jealous of the thing its unreal. he got me the engine, and most of the other bits and bobs for it. so the guy knows my projects go somewhere.

anyway, he's just bought a 350LC to re-live his teen years, and he's offered me his entire RD350 YPVS collection, crashed, bent but running fine (rebuilt 6 months ago and he's a fair weather rider), spare frame, and a ford transit full of spares, for...

?400

naturally i ripped his arm off once again, his reasons for wanting me to have it are that he likes seeing the things he gives me (he pretty much does give them to me) going somewhere.

anyway, i have 2 choices... build up and make a fucking amazing original immaculate one with the fairings, then see how many others i can make with the rest of the spares, or...

other: thats where you come in. ideas?

once again, pretty sure im getting a fairly good deal this time, but anyone in the know of RD's think the same? i know theres some valuable and not so valuable RD's.

pics and project thread to come. picking it all up in the next couple of weeks.

Idea 1 is prety solid. Maybe use the other parts to make a road trip bke? Have a comp with some m8s ( presuming you have enough parts / time ) and each build your own bike, then see wich lasts the longest before yu are stranded in the rain?

Make an off road one

Make something completely new and radical that no one has ever done before.
