I had a go on the California Superbike School simulator thing, and got some really good pointed from the guy there.

On the way home I tried it out, it made such a difference!

What he said was (for a left turn say) to try to take all of the weight with my right leg and keep your left arm loose, use your knee in the lip of your tank to take all the weight. Have one arse cheek off the bike and pull your left knee back. The difference was incredible Thumbs Up It seriously made me consider going on one of there courses, I know they are dear but the guy I spoke with for 5 minutes gave me some brilliant tips.

No offence but how were you doing it before? Laughing That seems fairly natural and obvious or am I missing something?

If I were you I'd buy twist of the wrist 1 and 2 and/or the DVD.

You'll learn a lot from it by the sounds of things.

Then go to the superbike school after reading the books, breaking everything down, practicing etc. That way they can spend the time fine tuning your riding rather than teaching you the basics you could have learned in the book.

To take all the weight with the oppersite leg? doesn't seem natural at all to me.

I was under the impression you always loaded the inside peg during corning and then weighted the outside peg to aid in traction on the exit if you required.

If you are hanging off the bike there is literally no other way to do it surely? The clue is in the word "hang".

I agree, but even when I'm hanging off and cornering with lots of lean I never feel like im holding on with that leg? I obviously am to a degree but I feel quite naturally floaty as if the cornering force is equal if that makes sense.

I think its the way to do it but not sure how noticable the feeling that you're doing it is?

He might have learnt everything that he knows from BCF as there are plenty of threads detailing info like that along with other tips and techniques for fast/smooth riding. Razz

i'm surprised when i saw you were going i expected to come on here and see you disappointed with it (i kind of was, what with no suzuki, no proper honda (and thus no fury/vfr1200) and no proper yamaha. i think if i'd not been photo'ing i'd have left after 4hrs at most.)

I went along on Saturday and saw that simulator thingy. Unfortunately the place was so packed there wasn't the chance to have a word about it with the guy there.

Not enough bikes. Not enough birds.

It should have been a fiver, not ?18.

I'd also recommend Twist of the Wrist II:
https://fstg.motosport.com/motographics/images/products/Metric/07controls/WristTwist2.jpg
It's a very useful book (The basic gist, "Keep winding on the gas") and lives on my toilet reading shelf.

Twist of the Wrist I is interesting but less useful.

My brother-in-law bought a helmet from the Excel show. 150quid off apparently. Although knowing him, the rrp was probably 2500quid.
