Hi, been having some problems with my speedo on my 01 fuel injected CBR600 for a while now. Its a digital speedometer with an electronic speed sensor mounted in the most impossible to reach place on the crankcase.

Basically when I start riding, the speedo reads 0mph until I have been on the motorway for about 10mins at 80ish then it reads as normal at any speed. If i ride around town etc at low speeds and rant around some tight B roads (moderate speeds) the speedo will not come on even after 1/2 hour or so. Stripped the bike down a few weeks ago and checked all the wiring loom connections between the speedo and its inaccessible speed sensor, gave the connections I could get at a quick clean off and reassembled - seemed to work for about 1 minute until the speedo then stopped and I was exactly where I started - (i.e. takes 10mins of high speed to kick in)...

Fault code reads a speed sensor or wiring fault - If it was the speed sensor that was knackered then surely it wouldn't start working after a few mins at high speed?
