Heres the outline,
Crashed into the back of a audi ~30mph
Bikes slowly been put back together, battery seems real healthy still as it was a new one before crash.

When ignition is turned on all the lights etc all working and plugged back in, but the rev gauge seems to be moving itself from bottom needle stop to around 8k when it wants to, no real pattern, if the bike is cranked and it starts itll drop to where it should be, but then ocasionally still go awol.

any suggestions please?

So it's Tacho gremlins then, not the speedo Wink Some bikes use the Tacho to display errors. Which number the needle stops at before dropping back down tells you what the problem is.

This is on the FZR right? Does it always whizz round and stop at 8k, or does it vary? If it's generally being crazy it's more likely just a fcked tachometer.

EDIT: Don't know if your bike will be the same as a thundercat, but check this out; LINKY

The Cat has 2 fault codes that show up on the rev counter.

3000= TPS fault.

8000=Fuel level sensor fault.

hmm,
its one of those bikes that never moves until the bikes actually running, dosnt do the cool whizzy thing when ignition started.
Could be fuel level sensor fault, altho it was doing it with the old tank and sensor, it now has another tank and sensor on,
Altho the tanks are both virtually dry, i think ill put some gas in and see if it sorts, if not i know theres wiring issues still.
cheers

The rev counter on my bike doesn't do the whizzy startup thing either, but it will still show an error code if there is a problem Wink

The ensor on my bike has 2 connectors, like spade connectors. So it is possible to connect it the wrong way round.

Is it possible that you coul have done this one your bike, or does it have a proper block connector? Contacts corrded maybe?

One block connector under in the tank space, so itll only go one way, either gack terminations, or i aint pushed it in tight enough me thinks.

Will try to update on tuesday when i go to fix it!
