Actually, the symbol originated from Buddhism, and actually represents peace (and other related variants). The Nazis (allegedly) mistook it to represent some sort of power over humanity, and hence used the symbol for their own evil intentions.

However, I appreciate that in popular (Western) culture the symbol is more associated with Hitler's regime

Why's what? Confused

Eh? You tell me...you're the one with the "OMG!" title for the post, so I guess that your first impressions what that it was a Nazi swastika?

The toy was mainly made with the (far East) Asian market in mind, and I believe that there are quite a few buddhists in Asia, which is why it slipped through to production, because no-one thought much of it. But because Coca Cola is a multinational corporation, it had to please Westerners as well.

Dean i really dont understand you sometimes! Rolling Eyes

I think its right that the toy has been stopped but i do believe there are a few people who do take symbols too seriously however the Swastika can't be taken lightly because of how its been used in the past.

When i say symbols are taken too seriously, i saw something on breakfast television a while back saying the St George flag should be banned Shocked because its a symbol for football hooligans, wtf??

A Union Jack is the flag which is used by the Royal Navy.

A Union Flag is the flag of Great Britain, often 'wrongly' called the union jack.

Just to make sure you all know Smile
