I've recently got a motorbike, and two of my friends have bikes.
Now we intend to go on road trips together, and I think it would be a good idea to use radios so we can try and be able to tell where each other are.
The problem is I have no idea which radio would be good to use.
I was thinking of buying: https://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/572782/Gifts-and-Miscellaneous/Intercoms/Pama-Scala-Rider
I'd like a radio I can recharge, and that has voice activation.

But I'd thought I'd ask the advice of some people who know more about bikes than me, rather then just buying something on impulse.

i got some BT 2 way radios for ?30 with earpiece/mics a while ago.
tried using them on the bike with the voice activation, but even on min sensitivity, all you hear is wind noise from the other end.

other than that, i'd say they were pretty good radios.

these ones

better off getting a PTT handlebar mounted thing rather than voice activated.

I have a pair of cobra microtalk mt550 radios, cost about 35quid

they work very well & have a range of just over a mile in town but more out in the open

they come with rechargable batteries but you can stick standard AAA's in there if they go flat while your out

get good head sets with a handlebar mounted push to talk button & they'll more than likely have a vox setting aswell, but vox is a big pain in the butt anyway

you either only hear the last half of every sentence or you just get a shed load of wind noise from the other guy when his radio won't switch off,

or if you talk to yourself a lot or swear at all the numptie car drivers when you ride everyone's going to know about it
