Check the rear chain adjuster. Some people tend to use a drift and whack it which causes problems with you trying to adjust it again later.

Also run a volt meter across the battery when the bike is running and ensure that the voltage increases to 12.5 - 13 at idle and upto and no more than 14-15 at 3-5k revs.

Where are you collecting it from?. If you need someone to check it over that knows these bikes shout.

Regards,
Kevo.

check for any buzzes under the seat when the brakes are applied...if you get them, then the voltage rectifier is knackered and it`ll cost ya £60 for a new one Shocked

oh and another £30 for a new battery Confused

im collecting it from not too far from mine, south of peterburo in east anglia at a place called riders motorcycles, there very good and if something is even slightly fucked or dodgy bout fixing or bodging they get a new bit. there paying for mot and road tax and if i dont like ti during the test then i get a full refund, no questions asked. yay

so im gonna have to get there early and get used to it, then thrash it and see if anything goes wrong, but ill have pics up soon, prob through korn cause im a pc dumbass but ill finally have a avator and a lovely new bike. yay

will

ps: maybe now i can come down to london and see a few people seeing as ive met danny(for a very short time at bmf) and ginger one, went to bmf with and met before that.

Riders Motorcycles are good. Bought my NSR125 from there in April 2002, it was 6 months old, cost me £1500 cos I know the bloke who runs it, cost me £300 in bits and it was as good as new when the bikes of the same age were still selling for £2500. Cheers easy Very Happy

Very Happy Nice one mate, I Know you'll like it. Among other things, look out for cracks under the top fairing/around V piece, I missed a couple of large ones on mine that I probably could've knocked a few more quid off for Rolling Eyes.

BTW The Castrol Rep is sweet, if it doesn't already have a seat cowl you can get a plain white one from Demon Tweeks for £50 which'd complete the look.

If you've got any questions on NC30 ownership feel free to ask... www.400greybike.co.uk is a good forum and has loads of information/experts willing to help you out.

It'd be nice to have another VFR at drag strip meetings, maybe have some real competition this time Laughing Razz

Yeah you should because that ring is gonna lockup on you at some point when hit metal grinds.

Hey, I just do what it says in the Haynes manual. And as it is the adjuster is really stiff anyway, it could do with being stripped down and cleaned properly.
