Here's just a few pics from the weekend. First time ive really done it and i didnt realise how many routes and trails there actually are around here, and how bloody unbelivable some are, il have to stop and get some pics of the actual trails next time. been on snow, ice, gravel, mud, stone and though a very deep river(not the little puddle in the pic)
If anyone on here is ever up for coming out and seeing what i mean just give me a shout.

Do you get into many arguments when your out on the lanes? I quite fancy doing a bit of trailriding. I always buy TBM but I haven't got the patience to put up with idiot ramblers causing trouble.

Had no problems at all with ramblers so far,but have had a couple of hairy moments from farmers/land owners when i've accidently veered onto their land Laughing

The rambler thing seems to be a bigger issue down south as far as i'm aware.

No have never had any trouble at all, at the end of the day all the trails i go on are legal for you to ride on, aslong as you shut gates and ride half sensibly most people are fine, most walkers open gates for you and give you a wave, but as always there's some that hate the sight of bikes.

Cool Thumbs Up rode through those places a couple of times(only on road).
I'm not too fussy really-sat or sunday is fine.I'll probably be staying at my mates house in whitfield (just outside of alston) for the weekend so i'll be riding both day's.

Don't know exactly where the legal ones are,but pretty much any lane in that area is good to ride.
It's not like you're going to run into anyone Laughing
There's a couple of abandoned quarry's round there aswell as miles of unused countryside lanes.
If i can get my mate to come out he knows all the legal ones,or i can get him to mark up my maps with them.

Well it was bloody hard work on a little light 250 two stroke, but yeah, some lanes were easier than others, but some i would say definitely not. So steep and rocky it is unbelivable. Il get some pics next time Thumbs Up

Judging by the numberplates on the bikes in his pictures I'd assume they were! May be wrong but the plates a good indication usually Laughing

You need a fully road legal bike, just like you would to ride on normal roads.

There is also no such thing as a daylight m.o.t. Wink

yep, You need a fully road legal bike, everything you would need for the road. MY bike has no lights at all, but i still have the usual mot certificate, so yes as Matt said, no such thing as a daylight mot. Smile

I'm confused, I always was under the impression lights were needed for a vehicle on the road?

Hi, no they are only needed if fitted. Bare requirements are horn, numberplate and rear reflector, which is all mine has. When it passes the usual MOT you just get a advisory sheet saying "no lights were fitted during test) so you can go and put light on it after the test and use it in night, but with no lights its just legal to use during the day or as it says "not to be used at times of reduced visability" .
Hope this helps
Jim Thumbs Up

It was the lack of plate that caught my eye - but I guess you have just taken it off to avoid it getting broken when you drop it?
