I'm in the market for for a lot of new clothes. I thought I'd have a look at this

https://www.prettygreen.com/shop

seeing as though it was on the news the other day... If anyone can find ANY original designs amongst that pile of over-priced shit, let me know. I only looked at a few pages, see, because £675 for a coat that would cost £200 from most other brands... or £150 from the high street, did turn me off somewhat.

£150 from the high street? Where are you shopping? Even that is expensive.

People who buy "fashion" brands are mugs!!!

£55 for a plain black polo shirt Laughing Laughing

£75 for a hat!

£55 for a scarf!

MUGS!!! Laughing

To put that into perspective...

For ONE scarf I could go trail riding FIVE days (provided I don't fall off and bust my radiator Laughing)

Why would yolu pay extra for clothes designed by that prick?

Liam Gallagher would be a good candidate for the rational hatred thread we've got going.

Twonker of the highest order.

Grotty twat obviously hasn't been to the local charity shop recently. Where the fuck were you getting your clothes if they aren't out there?

I'll definetley buy a 'name' if it's something that's a bit different that I like... I like firetrap and Paul Smith coz some of the designs appeal to me and from experience I know it lasts aaaaages, but so much of it is just plain t-shirt/polo shirt/jumper/jacket or whatever with a name on, and then charging £xxx. Man, £50 for a plain T-shirt with a little crocodile on it or that fucking HENLEYS shit.

A lot of the collection is on sale at Red Square and has been at a lot of other online stores for a while - collection is/was terrible, it was overpriced (even for a 'fashion' line), the quality is pretty poor and as you've mentioned there's just no originality.

I was told that if you were one of the first 200 customers to buy any Pretty Green item at Selfridges then you got the opportunity to meet Gallagher and that after a week from release the offer was still available Laughing

I've got no qualms about buying designer clothing. Don't own any tho Smile Is river island designer? Thats my kinda level when i can afford it. Good quality lasts.
That stuff from tescos etc looses shape. Serves its purpose for about 4 washes.

Best underpants i had were CK. Now i'm on the Aldi specials.

I used to work in River Island, they do some really nice, fashionable clothes, gone a bit downhill though recently. I wouldn't say it lasts mind, the jeans fade and the t-shirts rib.

However, the coats & leather jackets fit and last really well. You can get some good t-shirts there too.

For jumpers, get Lyle & Scott sale jumpers - I got a £110 jumper from size for £50, pure black. They fit really well. Also, G-Star raw jumpers fit really well if you've got a nice body, make sure they fit though.

I've got two pairs of G-Star jeans, but they are mainly for going out. However they are probably the best looking jeans you can get at the moment, and their 'utility' range fit so well. For every day jeans, get River Island/Topman. They fit well and are generally quite cool. Stick to dark jeans though, lighter ones look shit with light t-shirts or coats.

For Polo shirts, get two/three nice ones - Two Stoned, Luke 1977, Penguin, Lacoste at a push - and then just River Island, H & M, even Next do decent ones.

Do you wear sneakers much? Because I love them, and if you have 4-5 pairs of trainers they all stay looking really fresh and people really notice. It says a lot if you have nice trainers. Air max 90's, Adidas Nizza's, a pair of converse if you like them and then Dunk Hi's and Rifts for the summer. Look in Foot Locker and Size for nicer more unique designs with better colourways, don't shop in JD or get Adidas Superstars or other chav shit, everyone has it and no one thinks it's good.

In short, spend more money on coats and jumpers, as these look really nice, and less on t-shirts because you swap t-shirts more often, and then have two or three nice pairs of jeans and then cheaper ones for every day use. Sneakers are a real bonus if you can afford.

Only piece of clothing i'll spend out on are jeans & there's a good reason for this, no jeans i've ever owned or tried on fit as nicely as Diesel. I hate skinny jeans & hate baggy jeans Diesel are the only ones that i've ever found the perfect size. I'm 6"3 too so not a lot of jeans give you a nice length & come up too short.

My last pair cost £120 which is a lot for jeans but these aren't just for a Friday night, i literally wear them for everything. I'd even work on the bike in them. Embarassed Laughing

All my other clothes come from Next, Burtons, Republic & Topman etc. Can get a pair of nice looking jeans for £20 & they look just as good as the expensive stuff. A lot of there stuff actually looks better then a lot of what you see from designer labels.

With trainers i've recently started to buy Converse as i love not having new shiny trainers, the Converse are very oldschool & boring but that's what i like about them.

So yeah, designer stuff is a waste of money if just buying for the label & looks. The prices in the OP are ridiculous, it literally just is a logo.

What the fuck are you on about now you little cunt, New age skateboarder? They don't do skate shoes in FL, and I hate skateboarder shoes anyway. Are you retarded? Air Max 90's, Air force ones, Dunk Hi's - all sneakers released over 20 years ago. Classics, real collectable sneakers, for a reason.

Contribute something or shut the fuck up, your the gimp who has about 5 different accounts because no one likes them.

McDonalds of the sneaker world? Erm, try JD or JJB for that, Foot Locker sneaks are mostly £70+. You don't know shit about sneakers anyway, so don't talk shit.

Jeans round my ass? Do you know what G-Star jeans are? Probably not, retard.

Insurance cos I'm hard? No, no insurance because I'm a student and can't afford it on top of the contract when it's covered on my house insurance anyway.

Where the fuck did you get hoody from? I dont think I own a hoody.

And yeah, you change user accounts because you get continually flamed because no one likes you or agrees with any of the shit you spout, so fuck off and stop ruining the thread.

Since when has the word 'Sneaker' filtered through into British vocabulary? Trainer is much better, or if you want to be old school Plimsole is acceptable, although a little poncey.

Never fails to amaze me at the prices people are willing to pay for Jeans/T-shirts/Jumpers etc. The most I ever spent on jeans was about £60.00 and even then I was reluctant to give them my money. Just googled Gstar and £200.00 on jeans is insane!!! Everytime I see people in stupidly expensive clothing I can't help but think... " Sad twat!"

But I guess it's horses for courses as I'm going to be spunking £400.00 on a snowboard very soon. Lib tech Skate Banana, Oh yeah!! Cool

I think not!
Here's what happens.
Some company rolls up to his management and says "put his name on these as he'll need to diversify his stock portfolio and we'll give you shedloads of cash and a retained/percentage. Oh, and if you can get him to do an endorsement and some photos like he actually wears it himself that'd be really good"

You see I just don't believe the "Pretty Green is an up-front, straight talking, classic clothing range owned, founded and designed by Liam Gallagher."

I'm reading the "The Pretty Green team is made up of key industry professionals." which means to me it's the Gallagher name they're after.

I would doubt if the guy has actually seen any of the stuff other than what's given to him for a photoshoot (did he even know what the photo's were for?).
