I think this was covered a year or so ago, but basically the RS125 was available in a track only "Pista" edition between 2003-04. It was 33Bhp where as the unrestricted road bike was only 30Bhp and capable of 93mph, I haven't found the top speed of the "Pista" version but I suppose given the right conditions 3Bhp might be able to raise the top speed to 110mph (175Kph) as ulthar says.

There's a review on MCN of the RS125 range and if you Google search for "Aprilia RS125 Pista" you will find a whole host of other information.

I would say as the bike being advertised has a licence plate, headlight, and stainless exhaust that's it's probably just a derestricted RS125 (30Bhp) version, obviously I could be wrong but it would bear investigation before purchasing.

Even at 33bhp at the crank, thats still only 29.7 at the back wheel. Defiantly not enough for 110 let alone 120. The sports 400's only manage 125-130 and they have twice the power an RS125 is likely to have.

Hello, when I bought this I did some research, like most forums
there are contradictory opinions and arguments, but one guy
claims to be a track rider and says he has had his at 170 mph,
this however takes a complete overhaul and team of mechanics
to keep it sweet I would imagine. They are well documented for
110-125 mph though, I don't think they can sustain this without
constant rebuilds but looked after they perform very very well,
and this has being looked after as you will see.

Im sure it's the 33bhp, some insurers could see it was and
quoted me a fortune, others couldn't tell and took it as a
standard RS which is how you get it cheap.

I didn't even know there were restricted ones out there dressed
as the GP1, as far as I know there are two GP1 designs, all
imported full powered. They certainly wont have been
customised aftermarket because the sticker set costs a small
fortune and are only made in Italy. Even the guy on Ebay selling
every set you can imagine can't get this set.

I will call the DVLA in the morning, the logbook states the KW
which in turns tells me the bhp, but I don't have the logbook,
the document was lost/misplaced by the shop (Coventry
Motorcycles) the owner gave me a V62 and a cheque for the £25
fee addressed to the DVLA. I decided not to send it in because I
put it up for sale, most people would prefer to save the extra
owner by sending off for it themselves. Anybody who comes to
view it will see im a genuine person with nothing to hide. It
makes sense for the new owner to send off for it rather than me.

Anyhow, it's late and I promised myself an early night. Let me
