Ok, if you are getting an MOT done and you want to buy tax on-line after the MOT, how long is it before you can do so??

i.e. As the MOT places enter the MOT on a computer when it is issued, is this instantly uploaded/written to the database/server or is it the sort of thing where it is held locally and uploaded to the central DB once a day, even once a week?

Good question as our local MOT place looks shady as it is and their computer looks like an amstrad 464.

I don't actually know but to hazzard a guess, it could either be an entirely online system where they enter details directly into it (I don't think it's this) or they do an upload every day/week/ or even post them?

Why don't you just take it to the post office on the way back? Afaik they still have a glance at your docs then write on the tax disc what needs to be filled in.

That would be the plan, but if the PO is closed before I can get to it (depends on what time and where I can get the MOT done - some seem to want the bike all day), then online would be a bonus ...

I've still got to find somewhere that has an MOT slot on a Saturday and aren't 4nal yet!! Very Happy
