im having a look around but cant find much about this yet.

im using these forks

but to use them i need bigger bearings to fit the bigger spindle.

i also need the oil seals. i can find seals but is there a kit available to replace any other parts? the manual says to remove other parts as well as the seal so they may need replacing.

also, in order to use these forks i have to use this 4 pot caliper

is this a standard one for the mito or is it anything special? the pads are completely different to the smaller 2 pot caliper ones

Hi

Chances are that you will not be able to get bearings with the larger inside diameter and an outside diameter to match your existing wheel.

Nothing that special about that caliper, although they are pretty decent calipers. You might need a master cylinder to match it.

All the best

Keith

Might be worth speaking to a bearing company who doesn't deal specifically with bike bearings. May have more chance of finding the correct size Thumbs Up

Regarding the bearings, measure, in MMs, the outside diameter of the axle, the inside diameter of the bearing hole in the wheel, and the depth of the hole that the bearing will go into and take these measurements to you local bearing stockist (look in Yellow Pages to find out where) and they will tell you if such sizes exist and how much. Don't forget that you will need the type with a plastic cover on to stop the c**p from getting in. Best of luck.

ps If you have an Aprilia dealer anywhere near you, take the disc pads in, there's bound to be those calipers fitted to one of their smaller bikes, a 125 or whatever.

i went to bolt it all together to make sure the caliper fit but because the spindle for these forks are bigger i had to use the smaller one which gave me a few mm of play but im 99% sure it will work with the original disk.

but these come on the bike, and thats the caliper for the forks so surely should be the right one.

its just a biatch if all the parts are hard to find.

What about machining a new spindle, you still have access to a lathe right?

or even easier, machine some sleeves to pack out the spindle at each end.

that caliper looks to be the same as the one I bought from a TZR125R 4DL, so there shouldn't be a problem finding pads that fit Smile

Those are standard mk2 forks and thats a standard mk2 calliper, although usually they are painted gold.
I suggest you contact mmemotorcycles in london for parts, they literally have everything new or second hand in whats seems like an Alladins cave of Mito bits. He's a real mechanic too that isnt out to rip anyone off, he charged me £10 all in to remove a snapped exhaust stud from my NC23 and a snapped jet from a carb (both required drilling and werent easy).
Heres the website:

https://www.mmemotorcycles.co.uk/index.html

Heres a picture of my old bike, I painted the forks, but before this they were exactly the same colour as the ones you have, you can clearly see the calliper is also a 4 pot brembo like the one you have which is standard:

back to the original question, on replacing the oil seals in the forks, do i need to worry about replacing anything else?

and should i buy these or something better?
