Basically as the title says.

If I buy a car, and want to sell it before I have received the logbook from the DVLA. Do I just sell them the car and just send the logbook off when I have received it?

Can I ask why you want to sell the car so quickly?

Beats the point in buying it no?

Maybe he bought it to sell on for profit.

You'd be lucky to sell a car without a logbook, i for one wouldn't even test drive a car without a logbook present.

Also, the new buyer is reluctant to hand over money without recieving a new keepers slip, what happens if they get pulled over?

Saying that, unless you know that you can sell it really quickly i wouldn't of thought it would be a problem, i've recieved all my logbooks from the DVLA really quickly, well really quickly for the DVLA. Generally around 10-14 workings days and it's on my doormat.

True but if you had just bought the vehicle you should have a receipt with the previous guy's name and the date you bought it. It'd take but a minute to call the previous owner with the prospective buyer present to confirm you just bought it and the V5 was en route.

Because, if I buy a car for cheap that somebody wants to swap a bike for, I can save myself a pretty penny Cool

That would work Geri, there is no way I would think that I was calling a PAYG mobile with a disposable SIM card or a public phone box.
I would not touch a car without a V5.
