... what a shit DIY job!! Why do people chose to wallpaper? It's a pain in the arse! I can do most DIY stuff, especially building stuff out of 2x2 Laughing However I can't stick a bloody sticker on something without fucking it up so I don't know what made me think I could wallpaper a wall!

It looks okay from a few meters away! problem is the rooms only about two metres wide so you can't possibly stand a few meters away from it for it to look good!

It's got more bubbles than my fish tank...! Can't work out what I'm doing wrong so put it down to my inability to stick stuff on other stuff.

Next time I'll be calling in someone who can stick things on without fucking it up!

Rant over Laughing

I hate having to wallpaper it's a horrible job to have to do and so flumping boring it could make you suicidal.

Thankfully I know idiots who will do it for me all I have to do is put the paste on. Now that I can do.

I can't say I've ever had a problem wallpapering. It's quite satisfying. Although, I have papered ceilings before and that usually results in me wearing the strip of wall paper like a toga!

I hate decorating. You know when you grow up and some mothers just batter their children. Mine abused me mentally with the immortal words of "I've bought some new wallpaper".

I cringed at that sentance because I knew for a fact that for the next month I wouldn't be going out and I wouldn't be sitting down relaxing either.

I came in one day to be given a rubber mallet and told to knock the stairs out she wants spindles.

I don't and won't ever decorate my own house if it's got wallpaper from the 70's I would rather put on the flairs, open my top button on my shirt and boogy than wallpaper.

My ex-husband has spent his life doing it, its his speciality, paperhanging.

All them expensive £150-a-roll shite from them fancy designer shops, he gets clients (Chelsea/Fulham twatbirds with more money than sense) who pick that sort of shite all the time Rolling Eyes He once decorated the house of "Dirty Den" in some fancy paper, only to turn around and find that Dirty's toddler kid had come in and scrawled all over the wall, Mrs Dirty went mental, they tried to wipe it off, but it was all that expensively printed shite like tissue paper, so they couldn't, and Nino had to re-do it the next day. Not a happy bunny.

Huh, well, weirdly... not sure if this is normal and i got myself worked up over nothing, but it seems to have dried most of the bubbles out..... it's by no means perfect, but it looks better than it did earlier when I posted this thread, the majority of it is now smooth bar the last bit I put up which I figure is still drying Mr. Green

It's not too bad for a first attempt I guess, I'm a bit less put off of doing the other rooms feature walls now.... practice makes perfect Rolling Eyes

If I paid to have it done I'd be demanding my money back, but for a first attempt I guess its not so bad. Laughing

I prefered doing the coving and skirting and building the cupboard than the wallpaper though Mr. Green

I hope so, my mum wants it as a spare bedroom... considering we have 4 bedrooms theres only 2 of us here, no one has ever stayed here and I'm moving out soon... that makes three spare bedrooms decorated as bedrooms Laughing seems pointless to me.. we have a nice brown leather couch in the conseratiory being neglected as its out in the cold.. it'd match the wallpaper perfectly.. would make a nice chill out room IMO! but mothers, you can't tell them!

Built a nice cupboard in around the boiler, plan to lining paper it then paint.. really, really, not looking forward to the lining paper Laughing

After finally getting the re-wiring done and the kitchen and bathroom fitted and decorated, I'm now stripping the house from top to bottom, sod doing one room at a time, I've stripped four rooms and prepped everything that needs prepping, two rooms to go, then I can just paint the woodwork and bollock the paper up and done... Thumbs Up

Oh and new french windows have got to go in at some point as well... Rolling Eyes
