Hi

Event in support of Donington, as it has apparently been left in quite a mess.

All the best

I don't quite get it, browsed the website and can see one reference to the fact that the track is damaged and the facilities are in a mess, no explanation as to why and why it is our problem? The track is privately owned and charge extortionate fees to get into events so why does it need public handouts to sort itself out?

And no claim that it is our problem. Nor are Donington asking for handouts.

However with a limited number of tracks in this country and next to no chance of any new ones opening the last thing we want is to lose another (especially one that isn't just an old flat airfield).

All the best

Is that really likely to happen though? The track is worth millions and whoever owns it will either sell it to someone who will repair it or they will repair it themselves, I can't see it being bulldozed and turned into a housing estate. Just fail to see how a save Donnington fund is really going to help and if it's even worth it as I doubt it'll have any sway on whether the owners (present or future) shell out to fix it, bit like throwing pennies into a wishing well if you ask me.

Hi

It is most valuable to be torn up and have houses built on it. From this article it would appear that most of those wanting to get their claws into Donington want it for building but have presently been rejected.

Will it do much good? Don't know but would hope it will at least provide moral support those who have their work cut out to raise enough money get it back into a useable state.

All the best

Keith

Hi

We went quite late so most had gone home. Had a poke around the autojumble and quick look at the track / building site.

Charlotte rode the TZR there and we landed up parking next to a matching 2MA.

All the best

Keith
