'importing' a bike.

Hi,

I need to get a car and Motorbike from Germany back to the UK. I'm flying over with a friend and driving them back.

The car hasn't gone through the TuF (German MOT) process or registered in Germany so still has English plates but the bike has and has German plates etc (though they've been transferred to another bike now.

I can probably get a set of trade plates but not sure what they'd cover.

Could I book both vehicles into MOT stations in England BEFORE I go and drive them directly there from the ferry port will I be covered in terms of MOT & Tax? How do I get insurance for a bike not registered in the UK anymore ? Could I get insurance from the bike VIN #.

I'm hoping to go and get them in 4-6 weeks and obviously get them back on the road in the UK as fast and soon as possible.

Any help would be great and anything I can do ahead of their arrival in the UK would be good.
