Ok, so if your licence is revoked under the new drivers act and you then pass again, what date stands, for insurance and full power entitlement.

My mate lost his like that, he did the test again at wrang the DVLA they told him that the restriction is from the first date but the time he didn't have a licence didn't count. I.e. you lose your licence 1year 9 months into your restriction you wait 3 months and pass you test, you still have to wait another 3 months to be unrestricted.

Cool, I've had mine two years now, though the second offence fell within the two year period.

The story btw, is 4 points for due care and attention (a wheely) in mayish, then in december I got a letter informing me I was going to court for failure to provide, as in septemberish the bike was doing 40 in a 30. At the time the bike was up for sale and a few test rides went out. I kept their details for a few weeks, but when no NIP came through I've since lost them. So the NIP and reminder presumably got lost in the post, or binned by my mum at my licence (home) address.
Anyway, went to court and pleaded guilty to failure to provide. Got a 6 point sentance (was expecting 4) then stood up and asked to say my piece. Told the story and the magistrate said "well why did you plead guilty then" and let me change my plea. Now I'm in court on friday. Very much doubt I'll get off, but nevermind.
