Hi all. well i have had my license for a year now and been running around on my cb500. having had my first year of fun im now considering upgrading to a better bike. I didnt really want a sports bike at first but they are now growing on me.
basically it will be used for my commute to and from work which isnt a long journey and for the occassional ride out with mates every 2-3weeks. not interest in track days.
im 6'2" tall so dont realy want a bike where my legs are going to be cramped up.
money wise im hoping to have between 2500 and 3000 to spend.
would be looking at a 600cc bike

Hornet 6 or 9, ZRX1200, XJR1300, Bandit 12, ZX12R, Hayabusa.

Early R1s, GSXR1000s and Mille's are all pretty roomy. If legs really are a problem then you could get aftermarket rear sets and adjust them to their lowest position.

Most of that should fall within budget. Thumbs Up

thanks for the response. Really looking for a 600. I have looked in to the zx6r, r6 and daytona and found that i can get R6s that are new with lower mileage then the the zx6rs and daytonas. is this because they are more common or are there other reasons. on these three bikes other then the normal stuff you would look for are there any other niggles that the individual bikes suffer from that should be looked for. cheers

Hornets are very good, CBR600F is a slightly more sporty version and roomier than an RR.
Theres always a Fazer or a Bandit if you don't want a sportsbike and R6s and GSXRs if you do =P
Price will be mostly down to supply and demand and also what sort of offers there were at the time of each bike coming out.

Yeah, a Honda Hornet (CB600) or a Fazer or something are slightly more roomy than the arse-up-head-down GSXR/R6 etc.

I find R6s quite comfy and I am 5'10" however I do find they throw me into too much of a 'racey' position which can lead to being a tad uncomfy.

A ZX6R B1H or '00-'03 GSXRs are wider and quite roomy.

Just take a look around and see what is comfy.

gsxr's are probably the most roomy out of the 600 sport pack,

As has been said before, inside leg length is what we require to help with your enquiries... Smile (I am only 5ft8" tall, but have very long legs and arms), which makes a LOT of difference to the seat vs footpeg ratio.

I'll sell you my Hyosung!!! It might be a bit of a trek to come up and see it since you almost live in France but well worth it - yours for only £3000. Wink
