Hey folk,

After spending the last year on a 125 getting some experience, ive decided to get my test done in the next month or so. I have been eyeing up a good first bike that will satisfy all my needs. I reckon I should have around the 5k mark to spend when I decide to sell my FP RS125.

The Aprilia Dorsoduro has really caught my eye but so has the KTM Duke. I was planning on getting a bike to last me a few years and kept thinking that the claimed 60bhp from the Duke will get boring far too quickly. The claimed 92bhp from the Dorso sounds much more appealing and from what I have read on the net, its certainly manageable power.

I realise that others will have different opinions on good first bikes so I am open to suggestions. I like the idea of an upright/supermoto as it will be great for commuting which I will mainly be using it for but will also be good fun during summer weekends. As much as I like the idea of a supersports bike, my poor little wrists can take the pain during heavy traffic commutes!
