first track day advise

Need a bit of advise:

Have been riding for 3 years and never done a track day. I've been recommended the ron haslam race day - pro's seem to be: you don't have to ride your bike, all equipment surplied. Con's - is more pricey than a normal day

Has anyone been? and if so what did you think?

Do a trackday first. You get free tuition at most trackdays and there is no point doing the 'race school' until you've got a little track time under your belt.

If you don't want to use you own bike, a lot of trackday companies do bike hire now too. They generally only let you hire their own bikes or at least bikes from an affiliated company.

Save the Ron Haslam school until you've done one or two trackdays. Even then, I think the California Superbike School is much better. I've not heard very good things about Ron Haslam for the money. Its not really a school so much as a kind of 'experience day'.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Yeah listen to ..........Cuban Pete???? WTF dude!...Get some trackdays under your belt, then do a school if you need it, practice your racing lines on the road, you don't have to be going fast to do it. It will help come the day
