which is best is which ever you like,
what you are asking is like,.. what's better a truck or a car

both a capable of doing what ever you want

you need to elaborate on what you want said bike to do

I'd take the twin, the single is more fun for ripping it up but will likely have a low comfortable top speed. I find though that a twin is a nice compromise between the low-end of a single and the top end of a four.

Still has usable low-down power but at the same time can cruise at reasonable speeds without having a spazz attack.

I like twins!

no shit,

you can commute on a 50cc scooter
what type of commuting?? a 50mile motorway commute,
or a 3 mile 30mph speed limit commute.

The twin, it will be more reliable have more power and be smoother.
