what are nikkion exhaust like ?

what are nikkion exhaust like ? Im thinking about buying one new to fit my ns125r-k

As this is the only exhaust manafacturer that sell them new or am i wrong and they want £175 is that a fair price ?

Asked them once for info on an exhaust I was looking to buy for a TDR125 but they were unable to tell me how much power it would produce or show me a dyno sheet either - strange seeing as they said it would increase power..... Confused

They are about as good as aftermarket exhausts get.

Nobody actually does any calculation on Aftermarket exhausts (except for one very expensive place here in the UK somewhere) they just seem to copy the dimensions of old kit pipes. Allspeeds have always been the same shape for example, and Nikkon are cheap but unfinished. They seem to make the most power on an RD350 YPVS for example but they ruin the torque so you need to change the gearing to suit.

On the YPVS you've got a choice of four:

Jim Lomas - intermediate but a copy of an old kit pipe

Nikkon - make the most power but need gearing changes - copy of an old kit pipe - cheapest because they are unpainted

Allspeed/Gibson - Most torque but are just a copy of a set of original allspeeds which seemed to work well at the time

Arrow - Don't know much about them except Stan Stephens sells them and they are expensive.

If someone can find the link to the place that custom makes expansion chambers for your engine then I would be grateful.

Seem like i need a word with this gibson becuase mines a bit patched up now....and yes im ooking aout £200- £250 to pay pref someting diped or stainless so the last longer

"Alspeed" is the name for the pipe and "Gibsons" are the manufacturer. Great pipes for road bikes and you won't need to mess about with the jetting like you would do with peakier pipes like Nikon. When you buy new pipes from them, (and most places), you have a choice of finish - bare steel, chrome, stainless steel and recently "black chrome". If your original pipe is bare steel, it would have rusted in no time. Bare steel pipes need to be painted before seeing any rain. I've bought several expansion chambers for my bike, (6 sets in all), and I've ended up with a pair of Lomas stainless steel ones. i love the sound from S/S pipes and din't want to pay several hundred pounds for pipes then seethem rot away in front of my eyes. There is however a very small HP loss with S/S pipes. If you go to Gibsons, have a look at the black chrome finish, it looks superb. You might have to wait a while at Gibsons, they usualy have a bit of a waiting list.
