Rules on restriction - Proof, Insurance, Plod

As im sure many people do, im thinking about bikes for my Restriction, and have recently looked at some 250's, which make around 40Hp when new. I was thinking of not restricting it as its barely above, if anything at all when its 10 years old.

Question is, would i need proof its restricted? and who for? Insurance, Police? I guess i could probably get it restricted, and it would barely be any different, just seems like a hassle if i dont really need to.

I think most will agree with me on this, I went through my whole 2 years and never even got asked about restriction let alone tested.

It is possible to be caught and tested though so don't draw attention to yourself by riding like a prat.

Some insurers ask for proof of restriction, mine never did.

Cheers for that, i'll probably get it restricted as i'll barely lose any speed at all, but wont bother with the FI Rip-off.

Fi is a rip off but i would play it safe and get it restricted if i where you cus if you get caught its the same as riding without a licence and insurance i think.
