What to do now i've passed my test.

Well i'm new to this forum site so thought i'd do my first post.

Basically I passed my test under a month ago and my insurance on my 125 is up at the end of april.
Problem is i'm not sure whether I want another year on my 125, a 33bhp bike or something bigger and have it restricted.
Then theres the question of what bike I want

If anyone has any suggestions i'd appreciate it

As I say to most people, look around this forum, there are tonnes of 'what bike next threads', write down the list of bikes you have seen listed, go onto google images, look at all the bikes. Cross off your list the ones you don't like.

Then go out to a few bike shops and look at the ones you do like, and if possible go for a test ride, (if able) if not, at least sit on the bike and get a feel for it - distance from seat to footpeg, how long the reach to handle bar is, that sort of thing...

Then make an informed decision based on what suits YOU.

types, designs, looks, seating position

What is right for me, you may hate. What is right for you i may hate. It is what makes life interesting.

Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha: All will have dealers near you and are a good starting point.

I went with a Honda CBF500 and restricted it,fantastic bike and all the restrictor is, is a throttle stop that limits the bike to about 8000 rpm so it doesnt slow it down much either. I was thinking about a bandit until i sat on one and the riding position was all wrong for me. On the bandit when i put my feet down the pegs stick directly in to my ankles,Honda felt much better,pegs where back and out of the way. Make sure you get to the bike shops and have a good sit on a few different bikes to find out what suits before coming to a decision,all the best,Rich

Keep in mind that bars can risen and dropped. Seats and pegs can also be changed. So if you really must have a ------ it can be modified to a point.
