Route: Bocketts (with a minimum of 20 smoke breaks).
Attendees: Me (WR400), Joe (EC250), Rich Johnny (CRF230), Gazza (GGPamp).
Weather: Perfect but a little chilly.

A few of us took a slightly late planned and non advertised bimble over the Dorking lanes today.
(Non advertised as it was only a short one and a late start + more smoke breaks than Dot Cotton)

Was good to dust off the winter cobwebs and get some mud on the bike.
No heroics this run ... although Gazza did manage to throw himself over a log and onto another one, using his ribs as a buffer.
Like a man, he only cried and whinged about it for 15 minutes or so.

Not a lot else to report really ... going was still wet, but mud was nice and 'sticky.
Beelzebubs was despatched with ease - No break downs - No major offs - No run-ins with Rambliars Smile

Only thing of real interest was our favourite lane being taken over by 100+ cross country runners Sad
Shame that, as we had all got our muddy feet back and were looking forward to a bit of a blat.

Didn't watch the vid all though (I take it that it was the same all the way through - i.e. you passing loads of runners down the gallops?).

Where were the rest of the bikes? All behind? Thinking I take it the CRF230 was a dot in the distance to you all day??? Laughing

p.s. you need to come and play at more interesting places than just your back yard!! Wink

Yep - that video was just to show the number of runners we had to contend with (plus I thought the music fitted nicely) ... I will admit its a bit of a boring vid, and I edited out at least 5 minutes of runners Smile

For some reason people dont like being in front of me ... not sure if its the unfortunate incident when I 'T Boned' Philo.. or if its the fact I have a video camera running. Rolling Eyes
The CRF230 was ridden by Rich Johnny, who rode a bike for the first time in Sept09, passed his test and promptly bought the CRF. He did surprisingly well. ... or maybe that should be 'as bad as the rest of us'. Embarassed

Once the van is sorted I will be making every effort to ferry down myself and 3 others to the coastal regions (Portsmouth, Brighton, Devon etc) .. every other week or so.
Its just not doable riding down on the WR (it will kill the engine and my arse).

Update:
Gazza has separated something (??) from his ribs according the the doctor .. and is signed off work for 2 weeks.
Delicate little flower.

Your van has been out of action for as long as I can remember ... Very Happy .... out of interest, What is exactly wrong with it? Thinking

Poor Gazza, did he have body armour on too?? Confused

But the songs good Smile

Van needs a new starter motor fitting + front wing pulling out for MOT (the result of my clash with mr.Tescos). ... I know its all easy, but its been cold and Christmas and all that.
It will be done by mid April at the latest ... I stake my reputation on it Smile

Gazza had full chest protection ... but I think he hit the log with some force + he is a bit ghey.
