Has anyone had trouble with the rider 2 GPS holder.
The tomtom is a great bit of equiptment, I have the mount for my car and find it works very well.
The one weak link is the bike GS holder, The arm and handlebar mount works well and is strong. The plastic Tomtom GPS holder that fits onto the arm is the weak link though.
My first one the 2 lugs that stop the spring loaded plate secure wore so that the plate came out. I called Tomtom and they eventually agreed to send me a new GPS holder, normal cost about £40. The other day I noticed that one of the pins that hold the plate in place had worked out, I used a cut nail to replace it and have sealed both pins in with silicon sealent.
I know that the bike being a hornet can be a bit viby but the head should be designed to be strong enough.
Has anyone else had any problems and a warning to those that have a Rider 2 to keep an eye on the Holder.

I've had a new rider2 and holder due to the connecting pins wearing and losing contact.
Use the online help to get service, always really good

I've got one on my GSXR1000, great bit of kit and I uprated the scala to talk to my mate (on another bike) when out on a group ride.

The rider mount is rubbish, the pins were fine on mine but the transformer in the mount just stopped working after 2 and a half years (ie the TT wouldn't charge from the bike) and had to get a new one - out of warranty - but managed to blag a £10 voucher off tomtom but they charge £7 delivery.

I would also get the speedcamera database from www.pocketgps.co.uk best one on the market and only £20 for a year subscription and they update it monthly.

The battery also sometimes fails but you can get a replacment for about £20 but it is a sod to fit as the unit needs security screwdrivers to open it (and the rear screws are recessed by about an inch or so).

Couldn't do without it now.
