Taken on my phone but it shows the noise quite well. Sounds like a tractor!

Fairly loud rattling noise somewhere on the LHS, seems to be low down, somewhere around where I'm pointing the camera (you can hear the rattle get louder/quieter as I move the phone). Loudest at tickover, changes speed with revs but can't hear it at higher revs.

This is a CBR400 NC23 so there is no cam chain.

Any ideas?

Hi

Hope am not been stupid have you made sure you have enough engine and transmission oil in. Also dose your bike run ok.

i used to have this problem, couldnt find out for love nor money what it was though but didnt ever effect it

Knowing that these bikes have gear driven cams I'd say any rattling is bad.

I'm thinking big end bearings... Confused
