We have a client running Sage line 50, installed locally with the data files on a shared drive on a Windows 2003 standard server.
Everything has ran fine for the past 2 years I've been providing support for them.
About a week ago Sage started to run a lot slower than usual. They have a remote support package with Sage, Sage blamed it on network issues, I went to site and the network/server are fine.

Sage runs fine when booted into safe mode, same issue on 2 other PC's which also run 100% when booted in safe mode.

When the sage database is hosted on another client across the network it runs fine.

Googling seems to throw up a lot of people experiencing the same problem but no solutions.
I've tried the obvious such as disabling the AV on both server and client, checked no new updates had been installed. Sage recreated the company data file, moved it to another share etc.

Seem to be running out of ideas,

I'm going back to site later today as the manager wants me to have a telephone conversation with sage and let him listen.. Which I don't have a problem with, don't know what he's hoping to hear.

Anyone experienced similar issues?

Does line 50 use a SQL database of Flat File Database?

I'll find out when the missus replies.

They may have been fixed, but I know when it was first installed there were a lot of issues Smile

The wife just said that ours is hosted by sage not local, so probably can't help much.

Whenever we have problems Sage always say its probably our network, but the problems seem to sort themselves after a while.

Got the problem resolved by excluding all Sage extensions from the on-access scanning on the server, the antivirus was Sophos End Point Security incase anyone may come across this thread in the future. Thumbs Up

Strange that disabling on-access scanning completely didn't help.. but the customer is happy so so am I.

I can't remember the exact name of the update but I think it's the V12 PDF driver that should sort it. Is it especially bad when reconciliation is done?
