What are the possible causes of vibrations coming mainly through the bars, and seemingly off the front end?

I searched the workshop and some other threads suggested Bearings (wheel and headrace), tyre pressures, wheel balance etc.

It comes in at around 85mph, is at its worst from about 90 to 100, then eases off a bit up to 110 and then feels pretty ropey above that.

Feel the vibes heavily through the bars and the whole front end is shaking, happening with the clutch pulled in too so im thinking it must be chassis related.

I know for a fact my front wheel has a bit of a kink in, enough that it probably wouldent pass an MOT, the tyres are a bit shagged. Im currently on the lookout for a replacement front wheel anyway, and will be getting new rubber next week.

The only reason im posting this thread is because in one of the threads i was reading that a inbalanced front tyre gives you vibes at around 60mph and a rear at about 80, i recently had the swingarm and rear wheel replaced, and dident have the money for new rubber on the back, so some garage has put the old rubber on the new wheel, if that hadent of balanced it correctly would that explain the vibes?

I think the bearings are good (but will also get them checked when i get the new rubber)

Basically wondering if i do need this new front wheel urgently or if shoddy tyre fitting (i was told they put the tyre on the wrong way first go and had to do it again, so maybe they thought fuckit and dident balance it?) could explain?

I will find out on friday when i get paid, but just wondering for my own peace of mind during the week riding around...

Cheers

My front wheel has a huge ding in it (still OK JUST to pass the MOT) and it doesn't have the characteristic you describe at well over 100mph as tested in Spain 2008 and various ride outs at erm high speed,

Ding in the wheel isnt good, but also sounds like a bearings issue.

Well i had new tyres fitted and balanced only about 150miles ago, so i cant see it being that?

Then again i might get it at different speeds, not sure so yours might be!

Doesn't mean a wheel weight hasn't fallen off.

Problem solved, but worryingly all that time i was riding round without the middle of the three rear wheel spacers. The one that goes between the bearings Shocked

So at any point they bearings could have just disintegrated....

Not cool...
