Hmm, the Motrax ones are fairing mounted, aren't they? If so, then I reckon that they're crap mate, and could possibly do more damage than good.

Engine mounted ones are better, but will only really serve their purpose for low speed drops or spills, but still definately worth it.

well i managed to get it so they stick out but are attached to the frame, cause they felt really dodgy on the fairing, so hopefully they will survive as well as my bike.

or i could not drop it or crash in the first place

now theres an idea

Can't some crash mushrooms do your bike structural damage? The way they attach to your frame makes me think that if you drop it or crash it's gonna do more damage to your frame than just damaging your fairings?

The R&G crash bungs are the good ones - quite a few people on here would vouch for them.

Motrax ones... Confused

R&G ones are designed to bend before bending the frame or snapping. Mine bent and didnt snap or damage anything. Costs £5 for a new bolt then.

Motrax ones are a bit crap as they are not strongly attached

Yeah, but the point is - if the crash is hard enough to cause such damage, then the bike is gonna be pretty f*cked anyway. Besides, the most annoying (and unnecessarily costly) damage is often a result of low-speed drops.

Hi

Bigger problem is that the crash mushrooms are achored strongly to the frame but poke out, so they can nicely catch on a pothole the bike is sliding over, so putting on enough stress to bend the frame (which doesn't take much in some directions).

All the best

Keith
