 |
|
As it has a 19" rear I'm finding it hard to choose/find a tyre that would be good for Hare & Hounds/Enduro stuff etc.. I think all the H&H events are privately run in Scotland so tyres don't need to be F.I.M. approved, I could be wrong.
Tyre sizes are 110/90/19 Front & 90/90/21 Rear.
Any ideas folks? Would like to get them ordered asap but I don't want to buy MX tyres in case they're not so good in the mud. I'm new to this side of things so I have no idea what I'm looking for really. |

Have you seen motocross tracks? They are often very muddy .
Issues with motocross tyres are more likely to be quicker wear and chewing up the ground more.
Obviously get some motocross tyres appropriate for the conditions and you should be fine (you get ones designed for sand, stony, muddy etc).
Do check with your event - and could be worth asking them what they commonly see being used.
I've got a cheapish motocross rear on the back of my KTM200 and not had a problem riding on enduro circuits. |

Trelleborg? they are appaulling ON the road, but are excellent with agressive knobblies for off road stuff, I could have used one front and one rear for the entire duration of me big trip. My worn one went on Tony's bike and it took him to Magadan and back. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Cheers G,
I'll have a look into motocross tyres then. I did noticed some were soft/hard etc, wasn't sure what to buy.. guess I'll go middle of the road just now. I don't have any events planned until May so I've plenty of time.

Ordered a set of Michelin S12's.. Just hope they're the right size, it all got a bit confusing in the end Why do Michelin use funny sizes over standard sizes |

I would mate but it's in bits Replacing all the bearings, sprockets, chain, tyres, tubes, fluids, fork seals, caliper seals, brake pads, rear shock, handlebars, tailpiece, etc.. but the bloody shock and tyres never came so I wont see them until Tuesday probably.
Next month I'll get a full engine gasket kit, crank seals, piston etc etc and do that. Hopefully it's in no bad condition just now, don't want any nasty surprises. |

Well I had to get rid of the KLX and all the bits to make space, I hate not being able to move int he garage. I kept a lot of stuff off the other KLX just incase I needed them, rear brake cyclinder, bars, grips, shock (does fit), other stuff. Saying that, it wasn't the whole "deal" anyway And the KX isn't in as bad condition as it sounds, I just wanted to replace anything I could anyway (for all it is). |
