MY boy has a Suzuki GZ 125 Marauder, a 2002 with the mikuni carb.
Since he knows everything, ( he's 17) he decided it would be fine to leave the bike for months with petrol in the tank and the carb....consequently, the carb was completely blocked with duff fuel and white stuff. This amused me greatly, until I realised that the bank of Dad was going to have to pay for it.
Anyway, we cleaned it with carb cleaner and a can of Compressed air, and it seemed fine. Fitted to the bike, it started, revs freely and its a bit short on power, ( and it hasnt got much in the first place), anyway, after a couple of minute, fuel started to pour out of the airbox. I mean pour, like half a gallon or so.
I have stripped the carb again, checked all the jets and diaphragms etc, and all seems fine, Put it back on the bike, and again, revs well, but petrol still spraying in to the airbox.
Frankly, for a simple carb, this has got me beat.....any suggestions please?
Incidentally I have already considered a new carb, but at 250 quid plus, its a little beyond budget.
thanks. |
